Sprinkler Fitters U.A. Local 709 is an organization of over 1,000 members, including Building and Metal Trades Journeymen/women, Apprentices and Retirees. Our goal is to provide a supportive environment that encourages positive careers and the highest quality work in fire suppression.

We furnish signatory contractors with individuals who have the knowledge and skills to provide safe and reliable services. Installing fire systems is an enormous responsibility, one that our members respect and do not take lightly. Fire systems safeguard both lives and property. Their proper, consistent function is of grave importance. 

Jurisdiction 

We work on residential, commercial and industrial sites across Southern California. Our territory includes all areas within the Los Angeles city limits and 25 miles beyond them. It also includes all military installations at Point Magu and Port Hueneme, the cities of Santa Paula, Santa Ana, Ontario, San Clemente Island, and most off-shore drilling operations between the northern and southern points of the jurisdiction.
